Research Project Title: Real Time Power Quality Monitoring using Discrete Wavelet Transform 

Research Project Purpose: to design a real time system for monitoring the Power Quality PQ, to detect and classify PQ disturbances using Discrete Wavelet Transform DWT; voltage sag, swell, interruption, and THD for voltage, in addition to mitigate these disturbances. The proposed system will be simulated using LabVIEW and built using National Instruments compact RIO controller (NI-cRIO 9063) and the monitoring will be done using laboratory virtual instrument engineering workbench (LabVIEW). Making use of the high speed acquisition of the cRIO based system, the expected results will be accurate for detection and classification of the PQ events, and the mitigation process will be easily done with high speed response. 

Expected Results: High accuracy in detection and classification of the PQ disturbances . And mitigation of these disturbances in real time monitoring.
