Call for Membership: OWSD National Chapter in Palestine for Women Researchers
Under the Umbrella and Patronage of Palestine Academy for Science and Technology (PALAST), a National Chapter of the OWSD will be launched in Palestine.
What is OWSD?
The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) is an international organization founded in 1987 and based at the offices of the World Academy of Science (TWAS), in Trieste, Italy. It is one of the UNESCO programs and aims to increase the participation of women in developing countries in scientific and technological research, teaching and leadership.
Why establish a Palestinian OWSD National Chapter?
- To provide networking and information-sharing between institutions and individuals for promoting the increased participation of women in science and technology.
- To initiate science-based activities that address national concerns working with all levels of society (grassroots, schools and universities).
- To evolve and develop strategies for mobilizing financial and human resources towards achieving OWSD's objectives.
To launch our Palestinian chapter, hopefully on International Women's Day, we need at minimum 25 women researchers to enroll in the OWSD mother organization: click here to register
So, we encourage you all to enroll to get the many benefits from this program.
