Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Palestine Academy of Science and Technology has virtually held the 5th episode of Exploring Science Program, with Dr. Izzeddin Teeti , on Artificial Intelligence (AI): its emergence, how it works, its applications, and how to get started!, in the middle of a remarkable interaction of students, who are interested in Science, Technology and Innovation.
This episode was moderated by the students Baraa Shamasneh from King Ghazi Secondary School for Boys and Aram Al-Faqih from Qubeiba Girls’ Secondary School,at the Directorate of Education - Jerusalem subrubs - Ministry of Education.
Dr. Izzeddin Teeti discussed the emergence of artificial intelligence and how it was inspired from human intelligence, and how artificial intelligence works specifically in machine learning and machine vision. The lecture also discussed the uses of AI in the fields of medicine and self-driving vehicles, and explained how to go into the field of artificial intelligence as a future profession.
Izzeddin Teeti is a PhD researcher and candidate working on the application of artificial intelligence in autonomous vehicles at Oxford Brookes University. He is also the project leader for the OBR racing car team, supervising a group of undergraduate and masters students to build a self-driving Formula 1 car, and his team is one of the top three in the UK. He recently completed his position as an applied AI and robotics researcher at Amazon in Berlin, Germany. He holds an MSc in Robotics from King's College London and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Madaba.
