Palestine Academy for Science and Technology has organized the second round of H2020/ICT Awareness and Training Event in cooperation with Palestine Polytechnic University PPU in Hebron in 06-07 October 2015, as Part of the 4th Palestinian International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (PICCIT 2015), under the Auspices of the Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology, and Palestinian Information Technology Association of Companies (PITA).
The European partner in the project, Thies Wittig from IT Consult in Germany presented all materials related to the aim of this awareness and training event. Dr. Edward Jaser, the Jordanian Partner in the project, should have joint us as an assistant in the event, but unfortunately he was not able to get the Visa from the Israeli side. Nearly 40 participants attended the event.
Dr. Thies Wittig was also invited by PITA to be a key speaker at Expotech Conference in October 5th, and his presentation was on the Industry-academic relationship, that took place in Movenpick Hotel in Ramallah. He was also invited to be a Key Speaker at PICCIT 2015 Conference, and his presentation was on “ICT Perspectives in the South Mediterranean Region”, that was held at PPU Building in Hebron on 06th October 2015. On 08th October, the Med-Dialogue team has also visited the Expotech Exhibition in Ramallah that included more than 40 ICT Companies, to have a better vision on the ICT status of these Companies, and to encourage them for applying to H2020 programs, and enhance the cooperation with Palestinian Universities.
The participants of the training event expressed their interest and good impressions on how the content of all presentations was very useful for them especially that the event was engaged with practical information and fruitful discussions.
