Dr. Duha Shellah, a dedicated physician from Palestine, is appealing for support to rescue Gaza's healthcare system during a dire conflict. The region has endured severe infrastructure damage, pushing the healthcare system to its limits. Hospitals are overwhelmed, resources are scarce, and casualties are mounting.
The health crisis in Gaza is reaching catastrophic proportions, especially for vulnerable groups who lack access to essential services. A 16-year blockade has already strained the healthcare system, resulting in shortages of medical personnel, equipment, and medications. The current conflict has exacerbated these challenges, affecting access to clean water, food, fuel, and electricity.
Dr. Shellah's heartfelt plea is for global solidarity with healthcare professionals and humanitarian workers in Gaza. It's essential to uphold international humanitarian law, call for an immediate ceasefire, and demand an end to indiscriminate violence and collective punishment. Supporting those on the frontlines during this prolonged oppression is not only a moral duty but a human imperative.
