Dr. Omar S. Abu Abed is an assistant professor of drug delivery and nanomedicine at the Arab American University in Palestine. He started his academic career in 2017. Dr Abu Abed had received his postdoctorate training at King’s College London after finishing his PhD in 2016. He was awarded many prestigious awards and research grants from national and international societies and funding agencies, e.g., the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Federation of European Biochemical Society, DAAD, and MoHE/Palestine. Also, he has got many research fellowships in Germany, Italy, Canada, and the UK, that were awarded by the DAAD, Zamalah, PQSB and PGSB. His current work involves the preclinical translation of novel nanocarriers for the delivery of small and macromolecules for the therapeutic and diagnostic purposes of metabolic disorders and cancer. Dr Abu Abed is supervising PhD and MSc projects of several postgraduate students in Palestine and Europe. He is an active member of different international scientific societies, e.g., the Royal Society of Chemistry and the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles.
