The Academy Collaborates with Scientists for Palestine

7 July, 2019

The Academy hosted representatives from Scientists for Palestine (S4P), Mario Marteno and Bernando Zar, together with members of the Founding council of the Palestinian Mathematics and Physics societies, at the Academy offices in Ramallah. The meeting was attended by Academy staff and Mahmoud Al-Manassra and Muayad Abu Saa from the Arab American University, Hussein Shanak from Palestine Technical University Kadoori, and Mohammed Saleh and Alaa Talahmeh from Birzeit University.

This introductory meeting explored the possible areas of collaboration and joint programs between our organizations for the support and development of science research in Palestine, and ended with the creation of a local committee that will work together with S4P in preparation of the Third International Meeting for Science in Palestine, which will be held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA in January of 2020. The Academy earlier has nominated distinguished scientists from Palestinian universities for the participation in the event.
