Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Palestine Academy of Science and Technology has virtually launched the first episode of the Palestine Astrophysics Program, in the middle of a remarkable interaction of students, also with the attendance of around 2,000 who are interested in astronomy and space science.
This was with the participation of the Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Marwan Awartani, who opened the first episode of the program. Besides, the attendance of the program coordinator led by Prof. Raid Suleiman of Harvard University, and the guest of the episode, Professor Farouk El-Baz, who reviewed his experience at the space agency NASA (Apollo - Lessons Learned to Produce New Knowledge).
Awartani emphasized that this program is the result of sustained efforts, in addition to, stressing the successes of the Science exploration program and the overwhelming desire of students to communicate with Palestinian scientists, researchers, and Arabs in the diaspora. He thanked the coordinator of the program Suleiman and all partners and followers of this scientific event, which will lead to establishing a new horizon of knowledge and open prospects for the young generation.
During one and half hours, students interact with the guest of the seminar, ask deep questions about space science, its relationship to physics, their desire for their future academic specialization, and learn about the researchers that documents this interesting field of science.
The program is implemented by the Ministry through the public administration of Innovation and Excellence. It will host Palestinian and Arab scholars in various meetings. It aimed to simplify the concepts of science and mathematics for school students aged between 14-16 years, and to raise their interest and passion in the various fields of science, technology, and mathematics.
