The Academy recognizes a national treasure and strategic reserve of competence, expertise and talent in the scholarly community of Palestinian local scientists and in the Diaspora.
Also the Academy encourages and supports the effective and sustainable repatriation and integration of Palestinian Diaspora scientists and experts in the transfer and localization of knowledge in Palestine. Such endeavor is based on our conviction that our expatriate community of scholars and innovators can make significant contributions to advancing science, research, technology and innovation, set up creative models of scientific cooperation and networking between Palestinian local scientists and in the Diaspora on one hand, and between Palestine and the countries of residence or employment of these scientists, and support our national effort to build a resilient, thriving and sustainable Palestine on the other hand, also between them and Palestinian institutions seeking expertise.
In this context, we are working on building a smart database for Palestinian local scientists and in the Diaspora, in various fields of knowledge, in partnership with the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.
This Database will encourage Academy creating joint initiatives with Palestinian local scientists and in the Diaspora and pro-Palestinian foreign scholars to create advanced research schools in which researchers and graduate students from various Palestinian universities engage in research in physical sciences, engineering and medical sciences. Such Academy-lead and -organized initiatives include:
- Simulation Science and Engineering Symposium in March 2019, with expatriate scientist Prof. Carlo Sansour
- The Palestinian German Science Bridge with expatriate scientist Prof. Ghaleb Natour
- Symposium on Nano technology in June 2019, by expatriate scientist Prof. Munir Nayfeh, preceded by Interactive High school Lectures on Nanotechnology in April of 2019, in Ramallah, Hebron, Jerusalem and Nablus.
STI Observatory measures STI performance and publishes indicators that would help interested institutions, policy and decision makers in their development plans.
The Academy would highly appreciate your cooperation in joining Scholar Database. By doing so we shall; upon your approval, put your contact on our contact list and provide you with all material produced by Academy and STI Observatory. Also, we shall; upon your approval, put your information on our open access database where Palestinian institutions, scientists and experts may access the database and network with you and others.
