The Academy's secretary general attended the meeting organized by the ALLEA Standing Committee on Science and Ethics and the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in Oslo on 7 June 2010 which was dedicated to developing a European inter-academy programme on support of research and higher-education in Palestine. It was decided that a representative of the Academy was to be the chair of the steering group tasked to assist, in Europe, with the  promotion  of  the activities  among  Member  Academies and in other environments, while it should help, in Palestine, with the implementation and with the involvement of the other HE institutions.
